| The
Darwin LNG project was supported by RMD Darwin, the contract
entailed providing false work support for the 2,700m³
turbine slab. The slab was to have been completed in 3
x 900m³ pours re-using one set of Rapidshor equipment.
However the original delivery date was postponed approximately
two months due to the site experiencing quagmire conditions
with over 2,000mm of rain falling during the wet season.
The unforseen delay resulted in the client ordering two
sets of Rapidshor equipment to hasten completion. Obtaining
another 81 tonne of equipment wasn’t as difficult
as first thought, with the assistance of the other RMD
Australia and overseas branches, the customer was supplied
on time.
The first of the three pours was completed
over twelve hours.
