| PJ Anderson carried out this project, the Bellamack Overflow tank, for Power and Water in Darwin. Power and Water were very impressed with our project solution and in turn the design, which involved meshing of the RMD Minima and Airodek systems - Minima for the walls and Airodek supported by Rapidshor and props for the soffit. This solution of being able to pour the concrete in one application reduced the amount of joints, which is critical in this type of construction.
RMD Darwin first tried this approach on a very similar project on Groote Eylandt late last year (2010) which was carried out very successfully. This is now the third project that has been initiated this way and Power and Water are now considering this as a preferred method of construction for all future tanks of this nature. |
