Paraslim
Paraslim is a modular formwork system for use in
the construction of bridge deck cantilevers. The system allows formwork
to be erected and dismantled quickly either piecemeal or in panels.
Its main benefits of use are:
- All erection, adjustment and stripping operations carried out
safely from deck level
- Fully adjustable to fit a wide range of steel or concrete bridge
beams and sheet piles
- Rapid erection of prefabricated soffit panels at ground level
- Half the price of underslung or overslung systems
- Inclined soffits readily accommodated
- No projection below bridge girders
- Less deck construction joints
- Low deflection compared with traditional methods
- Safe working platform and handrail immediately in place
- Reduction in labour costs due to rapid erection and dismantling
times (up to 50m fixed and levelled in one shift by 2 workers and
1 engineer)
- All work can be carried out by a formwork sub-contractor, no
need for scaffolders
- Deck edge overhangs up to 3m are accommodated
