Mining Shoring and Formwork - RMD Australia

LOCATION: Karratha, WA
CLIENT: Woodside Petroleum

This $16 billion Woodside LNG project will process gas from the Pluto and Xena gas fields, located in the Carnarvon Basin about 190km north-west of Karratha, in Western Australia.

Pluto is a new 3 train LNG project located adjacent to Woodside’s already existing North West Shelf 5 train LNG facility. The first train is commissioned as Stage 1 with two further trains to commence shortly after its completion. The initial production train is based on a resource of 5 trillion cubic feet of gas from the Pluto and Xena fields. The two further trains and possibly a domestic gas facility will help improve the project's eventual returns.

RMD Australia has been involved in all aspects of the formwork including footings, simple wall forms, detailed wall forms, single height pours to 8.6m, suspended concrete bridge road crossings, ring beam formwork, temporary works to suspend cast in bolt templates and jetty construction.

The main equipment hired includes the Rapidshor shoring system, Super Slim Soldiers, Megashor shoring system and the Minima panel formwork system.

RMD Australia is in a fortunate position on this project to be supporting numerous clients, these are: Leighton; John Holland; Harbourworks Clough Joint Venture, CB&I, BGC, Whitten Brothers Concrete, Killarnee Formwork and Fremantle Constructions.

RMD Australia’s diverse range of equipment and responsive customer service with effective engineering solutions has placed us at the forefront of being the main supplier of formwork equipment on the Pluto LNG project.
